If you let someone chase you out of your opening repertoire, you've already lost the opening. The London System requires in-depth knowledge of a few positional motifs, most of which involved Qb3 and the threats to b7. If you handle those properly, White's initiative is cut off, but Black still can only really equalize against it. On the other hand, in a world title match, drawing every game with Black is tantamount to winning the match. At lower levels, it doesn't matter really.
